Sorry mates, been a while since we logged our journey's of the Caribbean. So here is our second semester all at once. We will start you off with the bounty that Dominica has to offer. Me thinks that this landlover was put in the garden of Eden to scare off that serpent with his wicked shades and cancer stick in his mouth. Makes you want to stay in the water, eh mates. The Atlantic Side of the island and Cabrits (a fort 10 minutes from our house, w/ the cannons) is where these wee pirates explored.

This little swabby refuses to use the latrine, even after many threats of walking the plank and "nandy" if he does one or deuce. Thinking that new "Cars" underwear would motivate those huggies right off his lil keister, we were wrong and he put them on his head and over his diaper. Every time lights go out, he thinks its Halloween, so we dressed him up as Buzz.

Sibling Rivalry

We caught some of the moments where Caden is showing love for his favorite lil sister in the world, and for the most part he treats her as such. But what the camera has not caught is a Hulk Hogan Guillotine Leg drop to the head and the classic Rashiki move of sitting on her head. He has also been asking mom for a new baby brother, although mom and dad do not feel the same right now.

We embark on the voyage of our oldest turning one year closer to the beloved teen stage. She believes she should have 16 candels on the cake, but we negotiated 9. This cap'n Rob Dog has never sailed his ship through teen girl infested waters...Might as well walk the plank, eh mates? Looks like the ol' man has rubbed off on her as she shows a great interest in her PS2 eye toy, even brings a tear the toughest pirate's eye... good thing me patch can hide it. What makes a pirate ever so proud is that his only son is already developing a fine nitch for the more masculine things in life, polly pockets. This has me wantin to walk the plank too.

Cap'n "Blackbeard" the bunny was squatin' and laying down easter treats for all of the lil' swabby's here in Dumpinica. These lil' swashbucklers found all sorts of buried treasures here in the enchanted forrest. Caden found himself an "organic" egg only to find it wasn't hard-boiled, but don't worry mates, it was so hot he enjoyed a nice fried egg that cooked in his wee lil afro. Sadie helped litte Kamdyn move the fatty cheeks from her eyes, so she could find some nibbles for the ol' sweet tooth.

Catch of the Day in these waters is whale tonight, mates. A voyage on the White Pearl took us out to where the giants of the sea were mingling. I sent in me pics to National Geographic and they said me hand was too steady for their liking. We sent in Caden to spear us some dinner, but there is not much of a market for whale blubber anymore me hearties.

Happy Dominica Independence!!!

The 78th anniversary from their indpendence from Great Brittain has been celbrated over the past two weeks. Since then, they have lost their income from exports of bananas, have not managed to develop a tourism market, and have managed to put more craters in the road than the surface of the moon. It was a hard fought revolution, but the explosion of large coconuts and the lack of decent roads forthe Britts to drive on, helped them win that war. Makes you proud.

Here we find our lil' pirates in training adjusted to the "pirates life". Caden here is learnin to use the big boy potty-Is that chocolate on his face, or is that potty training gone wrong. You do the taste test you scurvey dogs and report back to Cap'n Rob Dawg, aye.

Here is Caden's shipmate camden, yes that's right swabby's, the same name as the wee sailor girl Kamdyn. He has been here for a semester, and already cap'n himself.

Caden stole Megan Moran's glasses....that is all I have to say, arrrrg.

And lastly Sadie has dressed up as Cheetara from Thundercats for Halloween....or is it easter b/c she won the golden egg. No one know s out here, it is summer year round.

Ahoy again me land lover's. A Sailor's Promise that we won't be so slow about postin' from here on out, aye. Caden here is trainin' for the steel drum, taught by our landladies grandson, a true local.

Looks like the wee sailor is a takin' to her uncle Nick. Suckin' the two fingers....ring a bell grandma milford? A true female version of baby Nick....Excuse me, me hearties, a true scurvy dog am I. Nick was a female version as well....aye you feminine hips.

Here are some other pics of our trip with me heartie and the other swabbies. The gentleman in the back, Antwan, was our forest guide and was very knowledgable about all the mysteries of the forest. The shot of the river below was from the cable bridge we were walking across. A 300ft drop from the bridge...no short drop by any means. And for all you swabby lovers out there, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 were filmed in that gorge below.

Here are some pics of our tour of Dominica's rainforest riding on an aerial tram. This seaworthy monkey cage took us under the rainforest's canopy, and here is some of the local scenery we saw. The cable bridge was the plank we walked to get to the tran that went above the rainforest.

Stop 4: Scott's Head

Well 'mates, even the angriest of seas have to get along sometime, and hear at Scott's Head, the Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea. Bree and I swam with the mermaids in the Caribbean portion. I swam out far enough to see the ocean shelf drop off into the abyss of Davie Jone's locker. I actually opened eyes and could see to the bottom (about 40 feet). Although the salt had me eyes crying for help.

Stop 3: Grub Time you limey's

On the way to lunch we stopped by to see a bus that was smashed by this tree during a devastating hurricane that passed through Dominica in 1979. The tree still grows to this day. And don't worry you swabby's, no littlun's were hurt or killed. The next pic is of a chruch across from the restaraunt we stopped at.

Stop 2: Trafalgar Falls

Amicolola has nothin' on these twin falls me 'mates. A little 10 minute hike and your there. You may even find a land-lovin critter like me friend here 'snippers' the land crab. The pics here are of 2 falls located near eachother.

First Stop...Freshwater Lake

Aye, they say Nesse lurks through these waters, and if your lucky mates, she may come up to greet ya'. This is fresh water lake. It is formed in the crater of an inactive volcano. You actually drive down into the volcano to get there. And though you land-lovers think the Caribbean is hot and all sun, this is at one of the highest points in Dominica, and you better bring your sweaters and mittens you swabby's. Me heartie was a bit cold in her "outdoor gear"...aye.

Island Tour of Dominica

For all you land-lover's out there who are contemplating to come see us, maybe these pics of our island tour will help push you in the right direction. Enjoy you Swashbuckler's. Free of charge (at least taken out of our tuition money), we took a complimentary tour of the island, at least the west side of it. We spent half of our time in the bus climbing up small turns on the mountain side, but it was pretty cool to see some of the hot spots of the "Nature Island of the Caribbean." Here is me heartie with me two swabby's (Sadie was unfortunately home with the flu)

White Castle

This castle is across the street from ours. Legend says that the once king of Dominica lived here until he was removed from his throne. It is now abandoned, and the country is in pretty much utter chaos (especially those who are driving)

Here is Bree standing in front of our new home. The little boy that is not Caden Kong is Nathan, the landlady's grandson. We let him in our house the other day, and I think now he wants to be adopted. He even watched me cook through the screen door the other day. Maybe if we take him in, the landlady will split the electricity bill with me....hmmmm.

Here is a beach about a 7 minute drive from our house. Sadie did not like the ocean b/c salt got up her nose. Bree was surprised the water wasn't as blue as she expected (It is in other areas not too far). Looks like the ladies haven't got their sea legs yet, eh mates?

It took one week for her to stay awake for more than 15 minutes. We'll never get that week back. I'll always remember the good times we had. Overall though, she has been a very good baby. I don't think there was a pic of me holding Caden where he wasn't crying...we still love you FROdoh baggins
